In the programme of the musicAeterna Orchestra, Maurice Ravel and Ottorino Respighi meet — masters of colouristic symphonism, impressionists freed from the shackles of classical harmony and form, who discovered the treasures of pre-classic music and paid tribute to neoclassicism. Both composers worked with Sergei Diaghilev's Ballet Russes: the ideas of the Russian impresario influenced their work to a great extent.
